Former World Boxing Council lightweight champion Edwin Valero (27-0, 27 KOs) was laid to rest in a private burial today in the cemetery of Christ the King Gardens in El Vigia, Venezuela. His wife Jennifer Carolina Viera de Valero was also reportedly buried in the same cemetery last Tuesday. As of now, there’s no word on who will get custody of the couple’s two children, aged 9 and 5. Valero’s mother-in-law could end up getting custody of them, depending on the juvenile court’s decision.
Valero committed suicide on Monday inside his prison cell after being arrested for alledgely murdering his wife last Sunday.
