Mayweather-Mosley won’t exceed 2 million PPV buys

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer made a prediction some months ago that the Mosley-Mayweather match would get 3 million PPV buys. I don’t see that happening. In fact, I see that fight getting just a little bit over a million. That figure is just slightly better than the 600,000 PPV buys (1.2 million according to Golden Boy) that Floyd made during his last fight with the bloated lightweight champ, Juan Manuel Marquez.

Marquez has a huge following from the Mexican fans so Floyd got a lot of help for that fight’s PPV earnings. Since Mosley does not have a huge fanbase and Floyd is a super boring fighter, don’t be surprised if this fight does worse than Mayweather-Marquez. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has disappointed fans so many times in the past with his hit-and-run style of boxing. Many fans swore never to watch his fight ever again. Honestly, I won’t watch his fights even on free livestreams, and if ever this fight gets more than 2 million pay-per-views, I will never write a boxing article ever again.
